If you’ve been paying attention to the 2017 free agent market over the past few months, you already know that the Dallas Cowboys might be the next team to make a massive splash by extending Kirk Cousins.

If you haven’t heard, Cousins has been one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the NFL over the past several seasons, and he’s been on the market since he left Washington.

It’s a wide open market, and this could be Cousins’ move that puts him right back in the spotlight in the quarterback market for 2018.

There’s still no indication of how much Cousins is willing to sign for and if there’s any serious interest from other teams (or any of the top-level quarterbacks remaining in free agency).

But here’s five free agents that could potentially impact the 2018 NFL Draft, and what I think their futures could look like with the Packers.

Tyrell Williams (WR)

I’m not sure that the Packers are on the verge of signing a top free agent wide receiver. But it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

With Jordy Nelson going through his physical, it’s still unclear when or if he’ll make it back from the torn ACL he suffered in the 2017 season.

In the meantime, the Packers’ receiving core has some holes.

The biggest and most glaring one has to be at the No. 1 receiver spot, where Davante Adams is a solid starter. But if they can get a little more out of Davante’s second- and third-year improvements, then a young starting wide receiver is a luxury they can’t pass up.

Adrian Amos (S)

I know it’s an older comment, but I have to do it.

If the Packers decided to re-sign Kenny Clark or sign another defensive tackle, that leaves an opening in the secondary.

There’s no chance that the Packers are going to sign an aging safety like Eric Weddle (or Brian Urlacher), but if they want to add some talent in the secondary, then the Packers need to find someone in this year’s draft.
